The Trafford Open Meet - 15/08.20

Stretford Open - 15th August 2020

The track and field competitions this year have been decimated by the arrival of Covid 19 but Stretford have managed to satisfy the restrictions and host an event at Longford Park recently. Many Sale Harrier athletes were keen to show how fit they had kept themselves during lockdown and put in some fine performances.


Lily Oldale U13 girl broke the clubs 35 year record in the javelin throwing 35.23m was the best U13 girl thrower this evening.

Also the same day Thea Brown broke the clubs U15 girl’s high jump record jumping 1.61m coming 3rd in the U15 high jump competition.

Both girls have come through the pathway at Crossford bridge, both were talent spotted through the Sportshall indoor competition which mainly comprises of Crossford athletes which Christine Tyrer organises, both girls also hurdle at Wythenshawe and both compete in the hurdles for the club in the YDL. Well done too to the many other Sale Harriers who ran, jumped and threw.
