THE 2024/5 HARRIER MAGAZINE IS HERE

The 2024/5 Harrier will be distributed from this Thursday evening! It's a new look magazine with larger print and photos, thanks to its new graphic designer Karen Daniels, the mum of one of our sprinter's at Sportcity. As always, it's action packed! It captures everything significant in the club's three sites over the past twelve months in glorious multi-colour.

            I'll be distributing it throughout the coming week beginning with Sportcity on Thursday evening from 6.30 – 7.30pm, then back to Crossford Bridge for the club's AGM at 8.30pm. I'll be distributing them at Over The Bales (Crossford Bridge) on Sunday and at the Crossford Bridge and Wythenshawe track sessions next Monday and Wednesday. Please make every effort to collect your copy then and take a copy for anyone else you know not currently attending club sessions so the magazine remains as topical as possible. With your help I'd hope that 90% of the club will have received their magazine within the next 7-10 days.

            Several pleas......please......as we begin!

• TEAM MANAGERS: I'm asking the team managers, coaches, parents and/or spectators going to the Northern Road Relay Championships in Redcar on March 30^th to take copies to distribute to club members and to give complimentary copies to other club's team managers, Northern Athletics officials and even runners from other Northern clubs. What brilliant club promotion! Beyond the Northern Relays, can you ensure you always have copies in your car-boots for the Northern League, NAL and YDL matches throughout the summer.
• COACHES! Please! Please! Please! Have copies in your possession throughout the year to give as induction to your newcomers. What a valuable induction tool! I never cease to be dismayed and disappointed how, in 99.9% of cases throughout the year, coaches and team managers have not offered this club magazine to their newcomers as part of their welcome nor even directed them to where to find it.
• PARENTS! Can you get your children to take a copy to their school's PE department and/or staff-room
• LEISURE CENTRES, GYMNS, SPORTS SHOPS etc. If you belong why not take them a copy ? Again, what excellent club promotion.
• PARKRUNNERS: Many Parkrunners don't attend club sessions Please take them a copy. You'll know who they are....or find out!

• The club has quite a large diaspora – in Universities throughout Britain and USA, and members who live throughout Britain. The club considers it particularly important that you have a copy. We're happy to post it to you if you (or your parents) transfer a small donation towards costs. Please ensure to email me your postal address.
• Finally, as with everything nowadays, feedback is important as a means of continuous improvement. Your feedback is most welcome. Since the Harrier is a public magazine I suggest you post your feedback on Sale Harrier's social media rather than to me personally. Remember! There's no such thing as negative feedback!
