In the U15 boy's events, DANIEL OWOSENI was our star athlete who won both sprints and the long jump. LIAM NICHOLLS made his league debut for the club and won the pole vault with a performance that ranked him 4th the United Kingdom. KIERAN STAFFORD competed in four events including a 2nd place over 100m.
Our U15 girls were in superb form winning 13 match events and all four non-scoring events. The middle distance squad was in great form with MADDY APPLEBY, LOLA RICHARDSON, ROBYN HEYWOOD-YOUNG, MEGAN BOYER, CHARLOTTE UNDERWOOD and GRACE HILL all winning their events whilst CAITLIN WETTERS ran a PB and a Level 9 performance in the 1500m. Lola and Maddy then teamed up with ROXY Mc HUGH and IZZY CONNOLLY to win the 4 x 300m relay by over 10 seconds. Our sprinters were comfortable winners of the sprint relay and dominated the sprint and hurdles events. Well done to NEILA CHUKWU, AVA BROOMES, ROXY Mc HUGH, ZURIEL SARUMI, LOIS WORMALD and DANIELLA DUHANEY. ANGEL AMADIN was again our most successful thrower taking part in three events and winning both Shot & Discus whilst PHOEBE KERINS also took part in three throws and scored valuable points.
In the U13 boy's events THIERRY KERR was again our star athlete winning both sprints and hurdles for the 3rd match in a row. Our middle distance runners upheld our harrier tradition winning five events – well done to LENNY ALVES, NOAH PHILLIPS, HENRY FRIEND, JOSHUA HOWELL, DAN TOPPING and TOBY HARRISON. Noah and Lenny also scored valuable points in the jumping events whilst our throwers outscored the other clubs – well done to ISAAC WRIGLEY, JOSHUA STAFFORD, JUDE KERINS and FREDDIE HOOTON.
In the U13 girl's events, BROOKE CARROLL-IVISON was again our star athlete taking part in four events and winning two of them. Our other sprinters/hurdlers were also in great form and outscored all the other clubs. Well done to GRACE BROOMES, HOLLIE Mc HUGH and ISLA QUINN. ALESHA GUBAS and CECILY COLDWELL both won their 800m races and then showed a turn of speed as part of the sprint winning relay team. In the 1200m, primary aged LUCY O'BRIEN smashed her PB to finish runner-up whilst EVE DOWLING won the B race. FLORENCE CONNOLLY took part in the maximum three individual events including a win over 800m.
Sale won the match and remain unbeaten. A massive thanks once again to our officials whose efforts contributed a maximum 56 points to the team's total and to CARL WORTHINGTON for, yet again his superb team management.
