Over the Bales 2023

Sale Harriers junior section finished the cross-country season on a high note with races over hay-bale obstacles on home turf at Crossford Bridge. One hundred and ten athletes turned out for the club, many of whom were making their club debut and they impressed with many fine performances. In the six races, we gained five team victories against opposition from clubs from all over the North-West.

CAITLIN WETTERS had a great run to finish 2nd in the U13 girl's race and with ISABELLE CONNOLLY and ISLA ANDERSON won the team race from Wirral AC.

DAN OAKES was on top form in finishing runner's up in the U13 boy's race and, with GEORGE HORSFALL and JAKE HARRISON, won the team race from St. Helen's with Salford H & AC in 3rd place.

LUCY O'BRIEN was the U9 winner last year and ran exceptionally well to finish runner-up in this year's U11 girl's race and with AMBER KAHN and ISLA QUINN won the team race by a comfortable margin.

Sale beat Manchester Harriers to win the U11 boy's team race with LENNY ALVES (3rd), TOBY HARRISON (4th) and ARTHUR O'HARE (5th) as the club's counters.

Sale won the U9 girl's team race beating Bury AC by a narrow margin with MIMI GRIFFITHS, ALICE SCHOFIELD and SOFIA KIRWIN scoring for Sale.

Despite excellent runs from THEO MILLER (4th), SEB GROVES (5th) and HARRY Mc LOONE (6th) in the U9 boy's race Warrington AC beat Sale by one point.

In all Sale athletes were awarded 40 plaques and medals for their performance.
