About Us

Sale Harriers Manchester is one of the foremost athletics clubs in the country, boasting an ever-present record in all League competitions. The club was founded in 1892 and refounded in 1910 and has since developed a reputation well known across the country and the rest of the world.

Founder members of both the British Athletics League and the UK Women's League, the Club is also well represented in Age Group League Competitions, the National Junior League and the UK Young Athletes' League.

The Club also has access to the warm up track and the Indoor Centre at the SportCity complex. The Indoor Arena is already available for training and competitions have already been held, including a number of Club promotions. The Arena has a 200m track and all Field event facilities.

The outdoor track has seating for 6000 spectators. Work was completed during the summer 2004 and a number of major events and Championships were held in 2004. Similar events, AAA Senior Championships, Domestic Challenge Final, Paralympic World Cup and under 23 International events have since been staged there.

The Club stages a number of indoor and outdoor Open Meetings and continues its road race promotions with a series of 5K races within Wythenshawe Park.
